Zika virus (ZIKV) infection in human has been reported from Gujarat and Tamil Nadu states during the year 2016 and 2017 respectively.  Zika cases were reported in Jaipur city, Rajasthan during the period of 21st September 2018 to 29th October 2018. Zika virus disease is caused by a virus transmitted primarily by Aedes mosquitoes, which bite during the day. Symptoms are generally mild and include fever, rash, conjunctivitis, muscle and joint pain, malaise or headache.

Ustad Qamruddin "Bismillah" Khan (21 March 1916 -21 August 2006)  was an Indian musician credited with popularizing the shehnai, a subcontinental wind instrument . The shehnai had long held importance as a folk instrument played primarily in traditional ceremonies, he is credited with elevating its status and bringing it to the concert stage. He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 2001.

India-Indon esia coor dina ted patrol (IND-INDO CORPAT) 2019 is held from 19 Mar to 04 Apr 2019.
Navies of both countries have been carrying out coordinated patrolling twice a year since 2002 in an effort to keep the Indian Ocean region (IOR) safe and secure for commercial shipping and international trade. The coordinated patrol reflects shared concerns between two countries for the peaceful Indian Ocean for benefit of the international community. It also enhances mutual understanding and interoperability between the two navies.

The 32^nd edition of India-Indonesia coordinated patrol (IND-INDO CORPAT) was held in Belawan, Indonesia from 11 - 27 October 2018. Under it, ships and aircraft from both countries will undertake patrolling on respective sides of 236 nautical miles long International Maritime Boundary Line.

Madhubani art (or Mithila painting) is practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar . International Conference on Status and Protection of Coral Reefs (STAPCOR - 2018) was held at Bangaram Island, Union Territory of Lakshadweep from 22nd to 24th October, 2018. The theme of the conference was "Reef for Life". It was inaugurated by Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
