Delimitation of lecture method while teaching of science, is that it should be full of humor enlivened by analogies, comparisons, illustration and anecdotes, which bear upon the topic. The lecture is made interesting by aids such as pictures, films, filmstrips, slides, diagrams etc.

In brain storming strategy, the brains of the participants are stimulated to create a storm of ideas and give suggestions regarding the topic without any deliberation to find whether or not they are meaningful and purposeful. It would be able to give expressions in some of the most useful and practical suggestions. Brain storming approach of presenting concepts is related with higher level thinking, problem solving and deep discussion of the felt problem.

It is the opposite of a closed-ended question, which encourages a short or single-word answer. Here, ‘What would happen if force of friction ceased to exist?’ would be an ‘open ended’ question.

In teaching of science, a good teaching and learning process can be said when gained knowledge is used in practical life because from getting up in the morning till going to bed, we need the help of science. In our daily routine, we need a general science knowledge and when gained knowledge is used in daily practical life than we feel actual experience of science.

While teaching the topic ‘Save Water’ we should Asking students to interview people in their colony about water consumption and carry out ‘Water Audit’.

In the program of debate two or more students holding contradictory opinions present arguments on a particular problem. They also rebut the opposite side. Finally the rest of the class is encouraged to ask question from the debaters or engage in a brief discussion with them. A debate requires a moderator. Class in order to get significant results.

The implication of ‘The Curriculum for the Ten-Year School- A Framework’ on the teaching of Science, its syllabi and textbooks are

1. All subjects including Science are to be compulsory for all students’ up-to class 10th, as a part of general education.
2. Science is to considered as one composite subject at upper primary and secondary stages.
3. Science curriculum should stress more on the process of Science than the product.
4. An integrated approach is to be followed for the teaching of Science at the upper primary stage as opposed to disciplinary approach that is then in vogue.

The most concrete of all types of activity methods, project method is an activity directed towards the learning of a significant skill or process. Having a wide connotation project includes any activity like dramatics, pageants and organization of debates, etc. Group project work helps in developing collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving among the students. The teacher should see that the projects satisfy a real felt need of the children and also have educative potentialities.
