On July 22, 2019, Former Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises & a veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kalraj Mishra, aged 78, was sworn in as the 26th governor of Himachal Pradesh replacing Acharya Devvrat, who has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Gujarat. The oath-taking ceremony was held at Raj Bhawan, Shimla. Indian politician Acharya Dev Vrat (60) sworn in as the 20th governor of Gujarat. He took the oath in Sanskrit. He succeeded Om Prakash Kohli. He has been associated with arya samaj pracharak and served previously as the principal of a Gurukul in Kurukshetra, Haryana.He served as the 18th Governor of Himachal Pradesh till 21st July,2019.

On July 22, 2019, India’s heaviest rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mk-III, nicknamed ‘Bahubali’ carried the Chandrayaan-2 mission successfully from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, off the coast of Andhra Pradesh. It is an Rs 978-crore project. It will be the first operational flight of GSLV-Mk-3 which is a 640-tonne rocket.Mission: The Chandrayaan 2 mission is set to explore the south polar region of the Moon, which is also known as Dark Side of the Moon due to the absence of sunlight in and around the craters of the Lunar Polar surface. It will explore the uncharted lunar south pole, 11 years after Isro’s successful first lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, which made more than 3,400 orbits around the moon and was operational for 312 days till August 29, 2009.

Andhra Pradesh Assembly under the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy passed the Andhra Pradesh Employment of Local Candidates in Industries/Factories Act, 2019, which reserves 75% private job to locals across factories, industrial units, joint ventures and private projects taken under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.Under the new law, private companies will have to train locals if people with suitable skills are not available.With this, it became the first state in India to reserve jobs for the locals in the private & industrial concerns.

Bhabha Kavach, called as “India’s lightest bullet- proof jacket” was launched at the International Police Expo 2019 in New Delhi. The bullet proof jacket is developed by the Ordnance Factories Board (OFB) and metal alloys manufacturer Mishra Dhatu Nigam (MIDHANI) which is headquartered at Hyderabad.Each Bharat Kavach has four hard armour plates, to protect the wearer from the front, back and either side.
