The governor of Kerala Arif Mohammed Khan inaugurated the 2-day long 3rd edition of the Global Ayurveda Summit 2019 in Kochi, Kerala from October 30-31, 2019. The theme of the summit was ‘Mainstreaming Ayurveda through Startups, Innovation and Branding’ and was organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

On November 1, 2019, The Spanish government confirmed that it has offered to host the 2019 United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference (also known as Conference of the Parties (COP) 25 climate summit 2019) in Madrid on the original scheduled dates of December 2-13, 2019. Previously this conference was to be held in Chile but in view of the anti-government protest in Santiago, there will no longer be a conference held in Chile.

On October 31, 2019 renowned Hindi writer Leeladhar Jagoori was conferred with the 28th Vyas Samman for the year 2018 in New Delhi. The award was conferred to him by well-known author Govind Mishra, for his 12th anthology (collection of poems or other pieces of writing) of poetry collection ‘Jitne Log Utne Prem’.

On October 30, 2019, Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg (16) has refused to accept an environmental award 2019 , saying that the climate campaign requires that, those in power start following ‘science’ rather than giving the award. she also refused to accept the prize money of 350,000 Danish kroner (around Rs 36,90,741).

On October 30, 2019 the union law ministry announced the transfer of 3 high court Chief Justices(CJs) under article 222 of the constitution of India. The Patna high court(HC) CJ, Amreshwar Pratap Sahi was transferred to Madras HC, replacing incumbent Justice Vineet Kothari. Vineet was appointed for a temporary term following the resignation of the previous CJ of Madras HC, justice Vijaya Tahilramani in September 2019. Tripura HC Chief Justice Sanjay Karol, has been appointed to Patna HC replacing Justice Sahi. Meghalaya HC chief Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal has been appointed as CJ to the Madhya Pradesh HC replacing chief justice Sanjay Yadav.

On October 30, 2019, private sector lender Dhanlaxmi Bank, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) T. Latha has resigned from her post due to personal reasons. The bank’s board has accepted the resignation.Ms Latha was appointed as MD and CEO of Dhanlaxmi Bank for three years due to the retirement of former MD and CEO G Sreeram.

On October 29, 2019, Indian Women’s Cricket Team has defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 14 runs in the final on the basis of Duckworth-Lewis (DLS)method and won the Emerging Asia Cup 2019 title at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.The tournament, organized by Asian Cricket Council (ACC),was held from 22- 29, October , 2019 with the participation of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh.

On November 2, 2019, A day after the bifurcation of the state Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) into two Union territories (UT) – Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and Ladakh, the Union Home minister Amit Shah has released a new political map of India showing 28 states and 9 Union territories. He also separately released a map showing the administrative boundaries of the Union territories of J&K and Ladakh. The map has been redrawn by Survey of India, Department of Science & Technology.

5th Indo-German Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) was co-chaired by PM Modi and Angela Merkel. On October 31, 2019 the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) has designated Hyderabad as the member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of “gastronomy” (art of choosing, cooking, and eating good food). A total of 7 categories were made for recognition under the UCCN which was launched in 2004. They were Crafts and Folk Arts, design, film, gastronomy, music, media arts and literature. This year, a total of 66 cities inclusive of Mumbai and Hyderabad were added.

International acclaimed Sand Artist Sudarsan Pattnaik who belongs to Odisha has been selected for the prestigious Italian Golden Sand Art Award 2019. He will be felicitated during the International Scorrana Sand Nativity festival in Italy which is to be held from November 13 to 18, 2019.

On November 2, 2019, The govt. of India is to set up and strengthen Anti-Human-Trafficking-Units (AHTUs) and Women Help Desks (WHDs) in police stations across the country for safety and security of women and girl victims of trafficking. The Empowered Committee (EC) chaired by Rabindra Panwar, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) recommended this proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA).

On November 4, 2019, As per the “Annual report 2018- 2019”, released by Union Home Ministry, Government of India (GoI), the State of Manipur remained the most violent State accounting for about 50% of the total incidents in the region in 2018 with a total of 127 violent incidents as against the 252 incidents reported in entire NE (North East) states that includes Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. i

The first-ever joint military exercise of India-Uzbekistan named “Dustlik-2019” from November 4-13, 2019. The curtain raiser of the military drill was presided by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Uzbekistan counterpart Major General Bakhodir Nizamovich Kurbanov.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the 18th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of SCO at Tashkent in Uzbekistan as special envoy (messenger or representative) of Prime Minister shri Narendra Modi. During his address, shri Rajnath singh invited all the SCO members to strengthen the existing laws and mechanisms to combat terrorism.

On November 2, 2019 the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD) in its report “Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India 2020: rethinking education for the digital era” has predicted that India is likely to grow at 6.6% in 2020-24, which is lower than the average of 7.4% of 2013-17.

On November 3, 2019, United States (US) based-Indian author Madhuri Vijay (27) has won India’s richest JCB (J.C. Bamford Excavators Ltd.) Prize for Literature 2019 for her debut novel ‘The Far Field’ at the award ceremony held at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Vijay (from Bengaluru, Karnataka), a recipient of Henfield Prize and the Pushcart Prize, also received the Rs 25 lakh as the prize money, a sculpture by Delhi artist duo Thukral & Tagra entitled Mirror Melting.

On November 1, 2019, A private sector lender, IndusInd Bank has appointed its consumer banking head Suman Kathpalia, as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will replace Romesh Sobti, who will retire in March 2020.

Indian wrestler Ravinder obtained a silver medal in the final of Men’s freestyle event. He was defeated by Kyrgyzstan’s Ulukbek Zholdoshbekov in the 61kg category. It was considered as India’s first medal in the 2019 edition of the U23 wrestling championship.

On Nov 3, 2019, Former President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Chairman of Modi Enterprises Krishnan Kumar Modi(K.K.Modi) passed away at the age of 79 in New Delhi. He was also the president of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) from 2002 to 2006.He hailed from Patiala district, Punjab.

On November 4, 2019 the union Minister of Home Affairs(MoHA) Shri Amit Shah inaugurated 3-day organised Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Joint Exercise on Urban Earthquake Search & Rescue (SCOJtEx)- 2019 in New Delhi. The exercise which will be held till november 7, 2019 is organised by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
