On November 4, 2019 the union shipping ministry announced 1st ever landmark Container Cargo consignment (movement of goods) to sail on inland waterways from Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), West Bengal to the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) terminal in Pandu, Guwahati, in the river Brahmaputra. This approval was given inorder to boost the connectivity in the northeast region.

The 50th edition of the World Economic Forum(WEF) is to be held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from 21-24 January 2020. The theme of the forum is fixed as ‘Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World.’ The president of the WEF Børge Brende, has invited Telangana Information and Technology(IT) minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, to the forum appreciating his work of launching various IT initiatives in the state.

The Prime Minister(PM) of India shri Narendra Modi paid a 3-day official visit to Thailand to attend 35th edition of ASEAN summit in Bangkok, Thailand.

PM Modi participated in the 3rd edition of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP) summit in Bangkok. RCEP is a proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the 10 members of the ASEAN and its 6 members FTA partners Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea and New Zealand.India decided to not sign the RCEP, after this decision there is 5 FTA members.All members of RCEP (except India) have concluded the text-based negotiations for the trade deal making the member countries of RCEP to 15. India expected to sign the agreement by 2020. ASEAN members: The ASEAN members are Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Phillipines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

On Nov 5,2019, The 5th Edition of ‘Miss Asia Global Title 2019’ was organized at Gokulam Convention Centre in Kochi, Kerala. Sara Damnjanovic from Serbia has been crowned ‘Miss Asia Global 2019’, felicitated by Assem Yessengeldiyeva, who won Miss Asia Global in 2018.

On November 3, 2019 the official emblem of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup for the year 2020 which is to be conducted in India was unveiled. The emblem was unveiled by Fédération Internationale de Football Association(FIFA) and Local Organising Committee(LOC) at the launch event in gateway of India, Mumbai, Maharashtra. About design: A bright blue waves rise from the base and reach up along the form of the trophy towards a crown forming the shape of Paisley or Boteh motif commonly used in Kashmiri Pashmina shawl and carpets. The droplet of the design framing a ball made from a marigold flower depicts a symbol of growth and development. The color and style is inspired from Bandhani textiles, an Indian tie-dye technique dating back thousands of years. The stem of the marigold’s symbol is derived from traditional Warli paintings with Bandhani patterns.

On November 2, 2019 the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security(GIWPS), America in collaboration with The Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO), Norway, released its 2nd edition of the report titled Women, Peace, and Security Index for the year 2019. India was ranked 133rd out of 167 countries.

On November 6, 2019, Fitch solutions has increased India’s fiscal deficit forecast to 3.6% of the Gross Domestic Product(GDP) FY2020(Fiscal Year 2020) from its previous estimate of 3.4%. The increase in the estimate was due to weak revenue collections, slowed economic growth and corporate tax rate cut by the govt.

Sabroom town(Tripura) will receive 1.82 cusec of water for drinking water supply scheme by India and Bangladesh agreements over Feni River. The Feni River originates in South Tripura district and flows through Sabroom town(Tripura) and then enters Bangladesh.

In a major relief to landlords and real estate companies stuck in stalled housing projects, the Union Cabinet gave its assent for the establishment of a ‘Special Window’ fund of Rs 25,000 crore for the stuck housing project across the country. The government will provide 10,000 crore rupees as a Category-11 Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) registered with SEBI(Securities and Exchange Board of India). State Bank of India (SBI) & Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) besides sovereign wealth funds and pension funds will provide the remaining Rs 15,000 crore to reach Rs.25000 crores.

India is set to host the 3rd ‘No Money for Terror’ conference for the year 2020 .This was announced by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri G.Kishan Reddy.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) constituted a committee headed by Tapan Ray.On November 7, 2019 the committee appointed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on the supervisory framework for Core Investment Companies (CICs) has recommended to tighten the corporate governance norms in the CIC. The committee has suggested that entities should have only 2-tier structure/layers and also recommended to strengthen the board structures with at least 50% of independent directors.

On November 6, 2019, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman of TVS Motor Company and Sundaram Clayton was conferred with the Deming award ‘Distinguished Service Award for Dissemination and Promotion Overseas’, at a ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan. He was the first Indian industrialist to bestowed this prestigious awards for this hard-work in the field of Total Quality Management (TQM). The award was funded by Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE).

On November 7, 2019, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been re-elected as 4th President of UAE (United Arab Emirates ) by the Supreme Council of the Union for a five-year term. Shaikh Khalifa was first elected President on November 3, 2004 following the death of his father Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Animals like giraffes, zebras, oryx, gemsbok, blue wildbeest and impalas have been specially flown in by the Hyderabad-based Seaways Shipping Ltd on the occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on October 31. Seaways Shipping transported the animals in a Boeing 777 from Johannesburg (South Africa) to Ahmedabad on a chartered flight.

Tamil Nadu Minister for Culture and Archaeology K Pandiarajan has announced that a state of the art museum, exhibiting more than 600 artifacts unearthed at the historic Keeladi site in Sivaganga district, will soon come up. The Minister, after visiting the temporary exhibition set up in Madurai, said that the world-class museum would come up at a cost of 12.21 crore rupees. He also revealed that excavations will be restarted in 15 sites including Keeladi, Kodumanal and Adichnallur from 15th January.

The State government has decided to develop a monkey park on 100 acres in Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district. This will be the first such park in the State. The park will be set up at Nagavalli forest in Hosanagara taluk and monkeys that enter farms and damage crops will be relocated here. Monkeys raiding crops is rampant in Hosanagara,Thirthahalli and Sagar taluks.
