Light is a form of energy that enables us to see different objects around us.

Bouncing back of rays of light after hitting a reflecting surface is called reflection of light.

Reflection of light is the phenomenon of bouncing back of light in the same medium on striking the surface of any object.

When rays of light bounces from a surface, the surface is called reflector.

We can see an object when it reflects or emits rays of light that enter our eyes.

Concave mirror is used in the headlight of a vehicle as it reflects a parallel beam of light.when the headlight is placed at the focus of the concave mirror it allows the light to spread out to infinity.

Shaving mirrors are usually concave mirrors to form virtual, erect and magnified image of face.

Imagine a transparent protein cadbury’s gems. that is how a lens in the eye look like. a biconcave lens. although the concavity on the inner surface is more when compared to concavity on the outer surface of the lens. The concavity of the lens can be changed with the contraction and relaxation of the ciliary muscles.

The imaginary line perpendicular to the reflecting surface is called normal.

Concave lens is also known as diverging lens as it diverges the rays of light falling on it.
