Let present age of father be 7x and that of son is 2x

after 10 years, their ages will be 7x+10 and 2x+10 respectively

so ratio will be

(7x+10)/(2x+10) = 9/4

28x+40 = 18x+90

10x = 50

x = 5

so present age of father is 7x =

35 years
