Pottery is the process of forming vessels and other objects with clay and other ceramic materials, which are fired at high temperatures to give them a hard, durable form. Major types include earthenware, stoneware and porcelain.

A village is a clustered human settlement or community, larger than a hamlet but smaller than a town, with a population ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand.

The Neolithic Age is sometimes called the New Stone Age. Neolithic humans used stone tools like their earlier Stone Age ancestors, who eked out a marginal existence in small bands of hunter-gatherers , lived in small communities such as villages during the last Ice Age.

The first animal to be tamed was the wild ancestor of the dog because the dog is smaller in size and could be easily kept.

"Natura" and the personification of Mother Nature were widely popular in the Middle Ages. As a concept, seated between the properly divine and the human, it can be traced to Ancient Greece, though Earth (or "Eorthe" in the Old English period) may have been personified as a goddess.

In most Neolithical societies, pottery was associated with agriculture. Man needed pots in order to store food-stuff and water. Pots were also required for the purpose of cooking, eating and drinking. In the beginning, man made clayware with his hands which were dried in the sun and then baked on fire. Later, with the introduction of wheel, the clayware came to be made with the help of it.

Before the advent of agriculture, Paleolithic humans had little control of the environment, so they focused on staking out territory and negotiating access to resources. They relied on hunting herds of animals and gathering wild plants for food. As humans began to experiment with farming, they also started domesticating animals. Evidence of sheep and goat herding has been found in the Fertile Crescent as early as 7500 BCE

The Paleolithic or Palaeolithic also called the Old Stone Age, is a period in human prehistory distinguished by the original development of stone tools.

Lower Paleolithic humans used a variety of stone tools, including hand axes and choppers. Although they appear to have used hand axes often, there is disagreement about their use. 

The wheel is believed to date to the Neolithic period (about 12,000 years ago) appearing at different stages in different civilizations. The earliest use was probably for turning pottery; Mesopotamian diagrams show that use as early as 3500 B.C

The process in which people grow plants and look after animals is called Domestication. It was a gradual process that took place in many parts of the world about 12,000 years ago.

• Some of the earliest plants to be grown were wheat and barley.
• The earliest domesticated animals being dog, sheep and goat.
• The animals provided not only milk or meat but could also be used to draw the plough and other purposes i.e. dogs for security of houses and to help in hunting etc.
