When is World No Tobacco Day celebrated every year? The World Health Organization announced the celebration of World No Tobacco Day in the year 1987 to raise awareness about the dangerous effects of tobacco consumption. The theme of World No Tobacco Day 2024 is "Protecting children from tobacco industry interference".

Hindi Journalism Day is celebrated every year on 30 May. Udant Martand was the first Hindi newspaper published in India. Udant Martand was published on May 30, 1826 in Calcutta. The purpose of celebrating this day is to honor the journalists who have contributed to Hindi journalism.

Recently, the Department of River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti has announced the Mass Communication Internship Programme. Under this program, research scholar students will be included as interns. The duration of the internship will be six to nine months. On completion of the internship program, candidates will be given an honorarium of Rs 15,000 per month and a certificate of internship.

The 46th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM-46) and the 26th Committee on Environmental Protection (CEP-26) meeting were hosted by India in Kochi, Kerala. A contingent of the Indian Air Force (IAF) recently arrived at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska to participate in the prestigious multi-national exercise, Red Flag 24 Exercise. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) recently successfully test fired the air-to-surface RudraM-II missile from Indian Air Force's Sukhoi-30 MK-I platform off the coast of Odisha. Rudra M-II is an indigenously developed solid fuel based air-launched missile system.

Several key ‘Made in India’ defense projects await final approval post-elections, including more K-9 Vajra self-propelled howitzers. The K-9 Vajra, built by Larsen & Toubro with technology from South Korea’s Hanwha Défense, is a 155 mm, 52-caliber self-propelled artillery system. It can fire various shells, has all-welded steel armor, and strikes targets up to 50 km away with a burst rate of three rounds per 15 seconds.

(Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education inaugurated the “Summer Fiesta 2024” at National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. The month-long camp, from May 29 to June 28, offers over 30 activities for children aged 5-16. Emphasizing the importance of extracurricular activities, Kumar encouraged curiosity and exploration. Indian space startup Agnikul Cosmos successfully launched its first sub-orbital test vehicle, Agnibaan SOrTeD, powered by the world’s first single-piece 3D-printed rocket engine. This milestone, achieved after four previous launch attempts, marks the second private startup launch in India and the first from a private launchpad at Sriharikota. Dr. Pawan Goenka hailed the launch as a historic moment for India’s space sector.

Dr. Surendra Ahirwar of the Ministry of Commerce highlighted the importance of redefining logistics for various sectors, including pharma, food, oil, and flowers. Over 250 delegates from diverse industries are participating, aiming to develop an integrated, sustainable, and efficient cold chain ecosystem.
