CAT 2020: Important Dates [Official], Application, Eligibility, Syllabus, Exam Pattern & Result

The Common Admission Test or CAT 2020 notification is expected to be announced in July and the exam will be conducted on the last sunday of November or first Sunday of December. CAT is conducted by one of the IIM on a rotational basis in various cities all across India. This exam is a gateway to India’s top MBA institutes, the IIMs and over 1200 other business schools. Every year about 2.4 lakh candidates register for the CAT exam. CAT 2019 was conducted by IIM Kozhikode on 24 November, 2019 and the CAT result was announced on 4, January 2020. The name of the CAT convening institute for the 2020 exam will be announced in the month of May. CAT 2020 registration will begin in August and close by the end of september.

CAT 2020 Syllabus

The CAT syllabus includes three sections- Verbal ability & Reading comprehension, Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude. The question from each section will be in MCQ format to be answered in chronological order. There is a sectional time line in CAT exam thus the Candidate must pay equal attention to each section of the syllabus.

CAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates having a graduation degree of 50 percent marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for reserved category) can apply for CAT 2020.

Candidates who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 50% marks or equivalent (45% for reserved category).

Candidates in their final year of graduation degree are also eligible to apply for the CAT Exam.

CAT 2020 Registration Cum Application Process

CAT 2020 Registration will begin in the first week of August and conclude by the third week of september. The candidates will be required to fill an online application form and pay the required fee to register for the exam. The CAT 2020 Application form will be available on IIMCAT (CAT 2020) website. Given below is the step by step process of CAT 2020 Registration:

Enter personal details like name, date of birth, phone number and email ID.

An OTP will be sent to the Candidates Email ID.

Use that OTP to authenticate phone number and email ID and follow further instructions.

Upload scanned Signature and image in prescribed dimension and make fee payment to complete CAT registration process.

CAT 2020 Admit card

CAT 2020 Admit card will be issued only to the registered candidates. The admit card will be issued online to be downloaded from the official website. Candidates can download their card 2020 from the scheduled date to the exam.

The CAT admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam hall. The candidates should make sure that they carry two copies of CAT 2020Admit card and a photo ID card issued by the government of India to the exam Hall.

CAT 2020 Result

CAT result 2020 will be announced in the first week of January 2021. The Result cum scorecard will be available for download on the official website of the IIMCAT. The CAT 2020 result cum scorecard will contain each candidate’s scaled scores (sectional and overall) and percentile (sectional and overall). The CAT 2020 result will be valid for admission to MBA batch of 2021-2023.
