In this question it is given that , a charge 'q' is placed at the centre of the open end of a cylindrical vessel, we are suppose to find out the flux through the surface of the vessel.
So , when charge 'q' is placed at the centre of open end of of a cylindrical vessel then only half of the charge will be able to contribute to the flux , because of the fact that half of the charge will lie ins

The type of material of which the resistor is made.

The length of the resistor.

The thickness of the resistor.

The temperature of the conductor.
