Multiply the differences and append 4.
Example: 98 × 97 (base 100)
Differences: 100-98=2, 100-97=3
Cross subtract: 98-3=95 or 97-2=95
Multiply differences: 2×3=6

Bonus Trick: Unit Digits Summing to 10
For numbers whose unit digits add up to 10 and tens digits are the same:
Method: Multiply left digits × (left digits + 1), then multiply unit digits and append
Example: 33 × 37
Left digits: 3 × (3+1) = 3 × 4 = 12
Unit digits: 3 × 7 = 21
