1. What is the relationship between force and motion?

Ans. Inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes in its state of motion. It is directly related to mass; the greater the mass of an object, the greater its inertia. This concept is significant because it explains why it is difficult to start or stop the motion of a heavy object compared to a lighter one. Inertia is a fundamental property that underlies Newton's first law of motion, highlighting the importance of forces in changing the motion of objects.
5. What role do frictional forces play in motion?
Ans. Frictional forces are the forces that oppose the relative motion of two surfaces in contact. They play a crucial role in motion as they can either help or hinder movement. For instance, friction allows us to walk without slipping and enables vehicles to accelerate and brake effectively. However, excessive friction can lead to wear and tear on surfaces and can also require more force to maintain motion. Understanding friction is essential for analysing how forces affect motion in practical scenarios.
