CHAPTER -11

FORCE AND PRESSURE
1) Force :-
Force is the push or pull on an object.
Eg:- If an object has to be moved, it has to be pushed or pulled.

CHAPTER -11

FORCE AND PRESSURE
1) Force :-
Force is the push or pull on an object.
Eg:- If an object has to be moved, it has to be pushed or pulled.
2) Forces are due to interaction :-
An interaction of one object on another object results in a
force between the two objects.
Eg :- If a man stands behind a car, the car does not move.
If he pushes the car, he applies force and the car begins to
move in the direction of the applied force.

3) Exploring forces :-
 a) If two forces act on a body in the same direction, the net force is
the sum of the two forces.

                                                                                   F

FAQs on PPT: Chapter 11 - Force and Pressure, Class 8, Science

1. What is force and pressure?
Ans. Force is a push or a pull that acts on an object, causing it to move, change its speed, or direction. Pressure is the force applied per unit area on an object.
2. What are the different types of forces?
Ans. There are several types of forces, including gravitational force, frictional force, magnetic force, electrostatic force, and applied force.
3. How does force affect the motion of an object?
Ans. Force can either make an object move or stop it from moving. It can also change the speed or direction of an object's motion.
4. What factors affect the pressure exerted by a force?
Ans. The pressure exerted by a force depends on the magnitude of the force and the area over which it is applied. Increasing the force or decreasing the area will increase the pressure.
5. How can pressure be increased or decreased?
Ans. Pressure can be increased by increasing the force or decreasing the area over which the force is applied. Conversely, pressure can be decreased by decreasing the force or increasing the area.
