1. combination reaction - those reaction in which two or more substance combined to form a single substance are called combination reaction, in a combination reaction to aur more element can combine to form a compound for example 2Mg(s)+ O2 combine is equal to 2 MgO

2. decomposition reaction -those reaction in which a compound spilt up into two or more simpler substances are known as decomposition reaction the decomposition reaction are carried out by applying heat light electricity

3. displacement reaction - those reaction in which one element takes the place of another element in a compound are known as displacement reaction. in general a more reactive element displaces a less reactive element from its compound.

4. double displacement reaction - those reaction in which two compound react by an exchange of Ions to form two new compound are called double displacement reaction .a double displacement reaction usually occur in solution and one of the product being insoluble precipitate out(separate as solid)

5) oxidation - the addition of oxygen to a substance is called oxidation
the removal of hydrogen from a substance is also called oxidation
