    9 : 7
  • b)
    6 : 10
  • c)
    10 : 6

Dihybrid cross between YYrr and yyRR:

- A dihybrid cross involves the inheritance of two different traits at the same time.
- In this case, the two traits are yellow (Y) vs. green (y) seed color and round (R) vs. wrinkled (r) seed texture.
- The parents are YYrr (homozygous dominant for seed color and homozygous recessive for seed texture) and yyRR (homozygous recessive for seed color and homozygous dominant for seed texture).

F1 generation:

- The F1 offspring will all be heterozygous for both traits (YyRr).

F2 generation:

- When the F1 offspring are allowed to self-fertilize, the resulting F2 generation will have a phenotypic ratio of 9:3:3:1.
- This ratio is derived from the four possible combinations of alleles from the two traits: YR, Yr, yR, and yr.
- The expected ratios for each phenotype are:

- Yellow and round (YyRr or YYRR or YYRr or YyRR): 9/16 or 56.25%
- Yellow and wrinkled (Yyrr or YYrr): 3/16 or 18.75%
- Green and round (yyRr or yyRR): 3/16 or 18.75%
- Green and wrinkled (yyrr): 1/16 or 6.25%

Ratio of parental to recombinant phenotype:

- Parental phenotypes are those that match the phenotypes of the parents (YYrr and yyRR).
- Recombinant phenotypes are those that have new combinations of traits not seen in the parents (Yyrr and yyRr).
- In this cross, the ratio of parental to recombinant phenotypes is 10:6 or simplified to 5:3, which is option C in the given choices.

A dihybrid cross is made between YYrr and yyRR. In F2 generation, the ...
In a Mendal dihybrid cross, in the F2 generation, 16 progeny are formed. In these progeny, 10 progeny show parental phenotypes (9 Yellow round + 1 green wrinkled) and 6 progeny show recombinant phenotypes (3 Yellow wrinkled + 3 green round).

That's why the ratio is 10:6
