It is a conjugated protein present in the rods cells of our eyes inside the retina. Rhodopsin contains 11-cis-retina al which is a kind of vitamin A and the opsin protein. So, a person who has a deficiency of Rhodopsin should take lots of carrots. OR
Rhodopsin is a conjugated protein present in the rods cells, in the retina of the eyes. It contains 11-cis-retinal ( a form of vitamin A) and the protein opsin. Vitamin A activates rhodopsin and sensitizes it to ultraviolet light.
As carrot is a rich source of vitamin A. So, a person deficient in Rhodopsin should take lots of carrot.
