The Civil War in Russia broke out after the October revolution in Russia. The main causes of the Civil War were the failure of the provisional government of Kerensky, the treaty of Brest-Litovsk enraged Russians, the increasing influence of the Soviets etc. Many groups including the Liberals, Socialists, and those who supported autocracy formed to oppose the Lenin's Bolsheviks. These groups moved to the South of Russia to fight against the Bolsheviks (the reds) to destroy socialism.
