The power consumed in a series circuit:

Where Rt is the total resistance and R1, R2, R3, ... are the individual resistances.

The current flowing through each resistor in a parallel circuit can be calculated using Ohm's Law:

I = V/R

Where I is the current, V is the voltage across the resistors, and R is the individual resistance.

The power consumed by each resistor in a parallel circuit can be calculated using the formula:

P = I^2 * R

Comparison of power consumed in series and parallel circuits:
When the four resistors are connected in series, the total resistance is four times the resistance of each individual resistor. As a result, the current flowing through the circuit is reduced, and the power consumed is also lower compared to the parallel circuit.

When the four resistors are connected in parallel, the total resistance is equal to the resistance of each individual resistor divided by four. As a result, the current flowing through each resistor is increased, and the power consumed is also higher compared to the series circuit.

Therefore, in a parallel circuit, the total power consumed is higher than in a series circuit with the same resistors.
