Reservation quotas in CLAT exam

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs in various participating universities. In order to promote social inclusion and provide equal opportunities to all candidates, the CLAT exam follows a reservation policy that allocates seats based on different categories.

Reservation categories in CLAT:

3. OBC (Other Backward Classes) category: OBC candidates are also eligible for reservation in the CLAT exam. The percentage of seats reserved for OBC candidates may vary, with some universities following the central government's guidelines of 27% reservation for OBC candidates.

4. PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category: CLAT also provides reservation for candidates with disabilities. The percentage of seats reserved for PwD candidates may vary, but it is generally around 5% of the total seats. Different participating universities may have specific criteria and sub-categories for PwD reservation, such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, locomotor disability, etc.

5. State Domicile: Some participating universities also have reservation quotas for candidates belonging to the respective states where the universities are located. These reservations are usually in the form of state domicile quotas, where a certain percentage of seats are reserved for candidates who have completed their qualifying examination from the same state.
