No new substance is formed during the melting of ice, only a change of state (from solid to liquid) takes place during the melting of ice. So, the melting of ice (to form water) is a physical change. So, the freezing of water (to form ice) is a physical change.

Melting of ice is a physical change as the change occurs in the physical property of the substance. That is the ice changes into vapour. Moreover the change is reversible and this change does not form any new substance. Thus, its a physical change...!!

Prakash Yadav May 20, 2021
Melting of ice is a physical change because no new substance is formed

D i would prepare for physical change

Melting of an ice is a reversible change and it has a change in its state these properties match with the physical change so buy this we can prove that the correct answer is d thank you

Melting of ice is a physical change because there is no change in the composition of the ice the only change that occurs here is change in state(solid to liquid) this does not affect the composition of the substance therefore it is a physical change.

Urvashi Makhija May 26, 2018
Melting of ice is a physical change because it involves change only in the physical state of water: from ice in the solid state to water in the liquid state.
Moreover, no new chemical substance is formed in the process and this change is reversible. Water can be converted back into ice simply by freezing.

Ya, it's physical change because it can again be Made candle.

Saumya Singh Sep 03, 2018
It is physical change bcoz it is reversible.. and in physical change only physical property of a substance like.. shape, size, colour and state will take place.... as well as in melting of ice.. ice has changing its state into liquid.... and with freezing we can make the liquid into ice again....

Drushya Salunke Jul 08, 2018
It is because when it melts and become water, water can be again freezed and become ice
