In Glycolysis 4 ATP, 2NADH2(4/6 ATP), link reaction 2 NADH2(6ATP) and krebs cycle 2ATP, 2FADH2(4ATP) 6NADH2(18ATP) are formed. So total number of 38/40 and input is less then 36/38 total formed.

There is theoretical maximum of 38 ATP produce from a single glucose molecule: 2 NADH produced in glycolysis (3 ATP each) + 8 NADH produce in krebs cycle (3 ATP each) + 2 FADH2 produced I don't know where (2 ATP each) + 2 ATP produced in the krebs cycle + 2 ATP produced in glycolysis = 6 + 24 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 38 ATP....
