Given below is the break-up of CAT 2020 question paper. The total number of questions were 76 and the test takers said, 120 minutes were enough to attempt all the questions.
➤ Section 1: VARC
This section had four Reading Comprehension passages and only one passage was difficult. Two of the RC passages had four questions and the other two had five questions. The VA part comprised three Para jumbles, three Para summary questions and two Odd Sentence Para jumbles questions. One can consider the VARC section of CAT 2020 as lengthy and slightly tricky. For a score of 99 percentile in this section, experts feel one needs to score somewhere around 40-42 marks.
➤ Section 2: DILR
The DILR section of CAT 2020 question paper had five sets in total. Two sets had six questions each while the remaining sets had four questions each. Overall, the difficulty level of the DILR section was similar to that of CAT 2019. To score 99 percentile, one needs to score around 32-34 marks.
➤ Section 3: DILR
In CAT 2020 question paper Arithmetic and Algebra dominated the the QA section. According to the experts, the difficulty level of the QA section this year was similar to CAT 2019. To score 99 percentile in this section, one needs to score around 46-48 marks.
