Centre of Gravity

• The concept of the centre of gravity refers to the point where an object's weight can be assumed to act.
• For instance, when a person stands upright, their center of gravity typically lies around the middle of the body, slightly behind the navel. In the case of a sphere, the center of gravity coincides with its geometrical center.
• Symmetrical objects with consistent density exhibit their center of gravity at the point of symmetry, where the object's shape is equally balanced.

Stability

• The stability of an object is influenced by the position of its center of gravity. 
• An object is considered stable when its center of gravity is situated directly above its base.

• A broader base corresponds to a lower center of gravity for an object, enhancing its stability.
• Conversely, a narrower base results in a higher center of gravity, increasing the likelihood of the object toppling over when subjected to a push.
