Trick 1: Understand The Subject

The first and foremost step in para jumble question is to understand the subject of the paragraph. As the subject plays an important role in linking many sentences.

Trick 2: Try to Find Out the First Sentence

Another important step is to find out the sentence which is showing a fresh statement among all the sentences. Obviously this sentence will not be something which is showing previous ideas.

Trick 3: Try to Find the Last Sentences

After finding out the first sentence now you should look for the conclusive sentence. This will be the one which will be having some links with the other sentences.

Trick 4: Understanding the Information Flow and Approach of Author

After identifying the first and last sentences, the next task is to find out the flow of information that is used by the author. By doing this you would be able to see the purpose of all paragraphs which will by default will lead you to develop an order among sentences.

Trick 5: Predict the Sequence of Answers from the Sentences

The last step is to generate some order in mind before looking at the options directly. This step will help you a lot in solving the questions quickly.

Besides the above mentioned tips and tricks and shortcuts for Para Jumbles, you should also provide maximum exposure to yourself by reading and solving various types of questions as well. Let’s practice the three types below:

Type 1

In this type you will see the question with 4 or 5 sentences. These sentences need to be arranged simply into a paragraph. These types are simple in nature as it contains fewer sentences compared to others.

A. This includes looking after the children and doing all of the housework, which is  fairly labour-intensive.
B. A stereotype that has existed a long time is that females ought to stay home, taking care of the family once they got married.

Type 3

Under this type, questions will come after jumbling of sentences. In other words there will be sentences which you need to rearrange first. After that you have to give answers of the questions. Let’s understand the same with the help of an example.

Q3: Reorganize the below given 6 sentences in correct sequence to make a meaningful paragraph, answer the questions after rearranging it.
(A) The primary one lies in the fact that governments should take a firm stance and apply stringent rules and regulations to lower the speed limit.
