mortality rate.

better. as the crude birth rate remained high and this ld to higher growth rate than previous year. 
Phase 3 
Rapid growth phase (1951 -1981) – During this phase the population was doubled and is 
marked as the period of population explosion. 
a. The average annual growth rate of population during this period was 2.2 5 because 
developmental works were taken up in large scale.  
b. Beside the natural growth the rate of increase was also added by immigration from neighbouring 
countries.

 Period of declining population growth-(1981-2001) –  
a. In this period though the growth rate remained high but started slowing down gradually.  
b. Because of mass promotion of literacy rate increase in the mean age of marriage of girls.
