my visit so far makes me think that
there are two ways of watering the crop
am i correct yes am but we don't call it
watering the correct term is irrigating
the crop irrigating
yes the supply water to crop at
different intervals is called irrigation
so how do we decide how much to irrigate
a farm the time and frequency of
irrigation varies from crop to crop soil
to soil and season to season where do we
get the water from wells tube wells
ponds lakes rivers dams and canals are
some sources of water
so are there traditional and modern ways
of irrigating crops
the traditional ways are the ones in
which animal and human labor used to
draw water from the water source these
are cheaper but less efficient but what
are they called
well let's see these methods are called

and energy do they still use it they do
however these days they use pumps for

sprinklers and drip system are commonly
used when the soil is sandy or the land
is uneven
it is useful in regions where water
scares how do sprinklers work farmers
lay a mean pipeline on the field
at regular intervals this pipeline is
connected to a perpendicular pipe with a
rotating nozzle on the top
when water is allowed to flow through
the main pipe under pressure with the
help of a pump it escapes from the
rotating nozzles
it gets sprinkled on the crop as if it
is raining okay
where the strip irrigation get its name
from in drip irrigation the plant gets
water drop by drop the water is allowed
to drip at the root of the plant hence
the name is there a particular crop for
which the system is used it is the best
technique for watching fruit plant
gardens and trees this method is most
useful for crops that need plenty of
water and the region that has scarcity
of water
