New York City has once again secured its position as the world's richest city in 2023, according to a report by Henley & Partners, a global wealth tracker. With a staggering 340,000 millionaires, the city boasts the highest number of millionaires worldwide. Tokyo and the San Francisco Bay Area follow closely behind, with respective millionaire populations of 290,300 and 285,000. The report covers 97 cities across nine regions globally and encompasses most of the world's major wealth hubs.
The United States dominates the list with four cities, namely New York, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Chicago, making it into the rankings. China also has two cities on the list, namely Beijing and Shanghai. London, which was once the top city for millionaires in 2000, has dropped to fourth place this year, with 258,000 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). Singapore, the city-state, secures the fifth position with 240,100 HNWIs. It's worth noting that five Indian cities, including Delhi and Bengaluru, have also made it onto the list of the world's wealthiest cities in 2023.
