Uber, the popular cab aggregator, has joined forces with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal to offer taxi services to government ministries, departments, agencies, and public sector units (PSUs) at a fixed price. This partnership aims to provide corporate services to personnel working in various government entities. Initially, the service has been launched on a pilot basis and will gradually be made available to all government ministers, departments, agencies, and PSUs.
Uber will ensure that the service is offered at a fixed price, eliminating cancellation charges and surge pricing. By registering with the GeM portal, Uber aims to bring transparency to government procurement processes.
