Telangana CM Lays Foundation for Hare Krishna Heritage Tower

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated the foundation-laying ceremony for the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in Hyderabad. The tower, to be built on a six-acre land in Narsingi, will reach a height of 400 feet (120 meters) and cost Rs 200 crore. It will serve as a cultural landmark for Hyderabad, housing the temples of Sri Sri Radha Krishna and Sri Venkateswara Swamy. The Telangana government has pledged Rs 25 crore for the temple's construction, demonstrating their support for organizations that promote peace and spirituality.
The tower will also offer accommodation for 1,500 devotees and include facilities such as an Annadanam hall, library, Kalyanai Auditorium, IMAX open-air theaters, lecture halls, Q complex, and guest rooms. Laser shows will be arranged to educate the youth about Lord Krishna's history and teachings while preserving Telangana's historical and cultural heritage.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy Inaugurates PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Secunderabad

G Kishan Reddy, the Union Tourism Minister, inaugurated a PM Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Secunderabad's Warasiguda area. He emphasized the importance of these Jan Aushadhi Kendras in providing affordable healthcare and creating self-employment opportunities for the youth. The Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), launched in November 2008 by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, aims to make quality generic medicines accessible to the public at lower costs.
Jan Aushadhi Kendras, established under this scheme, sell approved generic medicines at significantly reduced prices compared to branded medicines. These stores are managed by individuals, self-help groups, NGOs, or private institutions registered under the PMJAK scheme.

The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a government scheme launched in 2008 to provide affordable and quality generic medicines to the general public. These stores are registered under the PMJAK scheme and follow the quality standards set by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO).

Indian Weightlifters Secure Three Silver Medals at Asian Weightlifting Championships 2023

Indian weightlifters concluded their participation in the Asian Weightlifting Championships 2023 held in Jinju, South Korea, by securing three silver medals. Ajith Narayana and Achinta Sheuli competed in the men's 73kg category but couldn't add to India's medal tally. Ajith Narayana topped Group B with a combined lift of 307kg, while Achinta Sheuli finished second in Group B with a total lift of 305kg. However, their final rankings were ninth and tenth, respectively, after the completion of Group A.
Bindyarani Devi had previously won a silver medal in the women's 55kg category, marking India's first medal in the competition. India had a total of six weightlifters participating in the championships, which serve as a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
