At last by starvation and famine made bold,
All dripping with wet, and all trembling with cold,
Away he set off to a miserly ant,
To see if, to keep him alive, he would grant   (Page 21)

Explanation: अंत मे भुखमरी तथा अकाल  से परेशान हो  साहस बटोर कर झींगुर वर्षा मे भींगता और ठण्ड  से काॅपता हुआ एक कंजूस चींटा से मिलने निकल पड़ा | वह देखना चाहता था कि क्या उसकी प्राण रक्षा के लिये वह चींटा कुछ भोजन उधार दे देगा |

And a mouthful of grain.
He wished only to borrow;
He'd repay it tomorrow;
If not, he must die of starvation and sorrow.  (Page 21)

Explanation: झींगुर चींटे से मिलने चल पड़ा, इस निवेदन के साथ कि क्या वह वर्षा से बचाव के लिये उसे आश्रय देगे और खाने को मुटठीभर अनाज देगे झींगुर की इच्छा थी कि वह अनाज उधार लेगा तथा अगले दिन उसे लौटा देगा यदि चींटे ने इन्कार कर दिया वो वह भूख और दुःख से मर जायेगा|
