going to see about Indian Standard soil
classification system according to
Indian Standard soil classification
system the soils are classified into
three broad categories namely very
coarse soils course oils and fine soils
so first we are going to see very core
soils the very go styles are further
classified into two types namely Boulder
size and cobble size Boulder size means
the grain size range is in between
greater than 300 millimeter and Cobell
size means it has the grain size range
of 80 to 300 millimeter next we are
going to see course oils the coarse oils
are classified into two categories
namely gravel size and sand size so
first we will see gravel size so gravel
size is again classified into two types
namely coarse gravel and fine travel
coarse gravel means it as the grain size
range of 20 to 80 millimeter and the
fines fine gravel means it has the grain
size range of four point seven five to
20 millimeters so gravel size means it
has the grain size range of four point
seven five to 80 millimeters so next we
are going to see sand size the sand size
is again further classified into three
types namely coarse and mediums and fine
sand so course and means it as the grain
size range of two to four point seven
five millimeters medium sand means it
has the grain size range of zero point
four to five to two millimeters fine
sand means it as the grain size range of
0.075 to zero point four to five
millimeters so
sighs means it as the grind sighs a
range of 0.075 24.7 five millimeters so
next we are going to see fine soils fine
soils are further classified into two
types namely silt size and clay size
silt size means it as the grain size
range of 0.002 to 0.075 millimeters and
clay size means it as the grain size
range of less than zero point zero zero
