Introduction

In this book, we will learn about safety rules to keep us safe and happy. These rules will help us stay safe at home, on the road, at the playground, and in school. Let's have fun while learning how to stay safe!

Safety at Home

  • Don't touch hot things like the stove or oven. They can burn you!
  • Ask a grown-up before using sharp things like scissors or knives.
  • Always hold the handrail when going up and down the stairs.
  • Keep small things out of your mouth. They could be dangerous.
  • Don't open the door to strangers. Ask a grown-up for help.
  • Pick up your toys so you don't trip and fall.
  • Use plug covers to keep your fingers out of electrical sockets.
  • Keep medicine and cleaning supplies away from children.
  • If there's a fire, crawl low under the smoke and get out.
  • Wear a helmet when riding your bike or scooter.

Safety on the Road

  • Hold a grown-up's hand when crossing the road.
  • Look left and right before crossing the road.
  • Wait for the green light to walk at the crosswalk.
  • Stay on the sidewalk and don't run into the street.
  • Wear your seatbelt in the car, even in the back seat.
  • Don't play near moving cars.
  • Don't chase after a ball into the street without looking.
  • Ride your bike on the sidewalk or bike path, not on the road.
  • Don't run in parking lots; it's easy to get hit by a car.
  • Be a good passenger and follow the driver's rules.

Safety on the Playground

  • Swing sitting down, not standing up.
  • Hold on to the handles when you're on the swings or monkey bars.
  • Share the playground equipment with others.
  • Don't push or shove your friends while playing.
  • Use the slide one at a time and feet first.
  • Check for bees or ants before sitting on a bench.
  • If you fall, tell a grown-up if you're hurt.
  • Don't climb on things that are not meant for climbing.
  • Keep sand and rocks out of your mouth.
  • Listen to the teacher or grown-up in charge.

Safety in School

  • Walk quietly and don't run in the hallways.
  • Use inside voices to talk to your friends.
  • Raise your hand and wait your turn to speak in class.
  • Be kind to your classmates and share your toys.
  • Wash your hands before eating and after using the restroom.
  • Don't touch things that don't belong to you without asking.
  • Sit properly in your chair to avoid falling.
  • Listen carefully to your teacher's instructions.
  • Keep your school bag organized to avoid tripping.
  • If you feel sick or hurt, tell the teacher right away.

Conclusion

Remember these safety rules, and you'll have lots of fun while staying safe at home, on the road, on the playground, and in school. Always ask a grown-up if you're not sure about something, and they will help you stay safe and happy!
