NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts SSC Central Police Organization (CPO) exam for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub Inspectors in CISF. Here is the SSC CPO Syllabus, New Exam Pattern, Dates, Admit Card and other details to help you prepare better.

SSC CPO Stage 1 exam is a computer based test and the second Stage is also an online exam of English language only. SSC CPO Stage 1 and stage 2 papers will be objective multiple choice type questions.

After clearing the stage 1 exam, you have to clear the Physical endurance test (PET)/medical examination then only you will be eligible for stage 2 exam.

There will also be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer. There will be no interview for Sub-Inspector, assistant sub-inspector in Delhi police.

SSC CPO Age Limit

  • Minimum: 20 years
  • Maximum: 25 years
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates

  • For UR/OBC: Rs. 100
  • SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Female: Nil

1. General Intelligence & Reasoning: Verbal and non-verbal type.

The candidates are likely to get questions that include

Analogy: 5 to 7 questions on symbolic/number analogy, semantic analogy, figural analogy

Classification: 7 to 9 questions on symbolic/number classification, semantic classification, figural classification

Series: 3 to 5 questions on number series, semantic series and figural series

Coding Decoding: 2 to 3 questions on Coding by words, coding by analogy, coding-decoding by letter shifting etc.

Blood Relations: 1 to 2 questions on coded blood relation and family tree

Ordering & Ranking: 0 to 2 questions

Alphabet or Word Test: 4 to 5 questions on jumbled words, matrix, sequence & word formation etc.

Distance and Direction: 1 to 3 questions

Venn Diagrams: 4 to 5 questions on Venn diagrams, syllogisms, logical etc.

Missing Number: 1 to 3 questions on Matrix & Diagrams (Number & Alphabet based)

Puzzles: 4 to 6 questions circular arrangement, seating arrangement, linear arrangement etc.

Data Sufficiency: 5 to 7 questions on Cubes & Dices, Arithmetic Operations etc.

Polity: 3 to 5 questions on Judiciary, Constitution of India, etc.

Science & Technology: 10 to 13 questions on Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environment, Nutrition, Diseases, etc.

History: 6 to 7 questions on Ancient & Medieval History and Indian Freedom Struggle etc

Geography: 5 to 6 questions on World Geography and Indian Geography

Economy: 4 to 5 questions on World & Indian Economy, Economic Organisation.

National & International Affairs: 10 to 11 questions on National & International News, Government Policies & Schemes, Days & Events, etc.

Note: One or two questions may be asked from the following topics

India and its neighbouring countries and their History, Geography, Culture, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research, etc.


3. SSC CPO Syllabus: Quantitative Aptitude

The questions will test candidate's ability of appropriate use of numbers and 'number sense'.

Simplification: 4 to 6 questions on Decimal, Fraction, BODMAS, and Ratio & Proportion etc.

Ratio & Proportions: 5 to 7 questions

Mixture Problems: 0 to 1 question

Number System: 0 to 1 questions on Integers, Rational Irrational Numbers, LCM, and HCF

Algebra: 4 to 6 questions on Quadratic Equations, Linear Equations, Identities, etc.

Profit & Loss: 4 to 5 questions

Average: 1 to 2 questions

Percentage: 1 to 2 questions

Time and Work: 1 to 2 questions
