What is an E-way Bill?

• Electronic Way Bill (EWB) is basically a compliance mechanism wherein by way of a
digital interface, the person causing the movement of goods uploads the relevant
information prior to the commencement of movement of goods and generates an
authorization for transportation of the said goods.
• Itisadocument evidencing movement of goods. Itcomprises of
• What is being moved –HSNCode,Nomenclature,Quantity,Valueof goods
• Whereit isbeing movedto –Place of delivery (Pin Code)
• Who arethe supplier andrecipients –Detailsof Consignor, Consignee and recipient
• Underwhat document –Invoice, DeliveryChallan, BoE
