What is Simplification?
Simplification means solving a mathematical
expression step by step by following certain
rules to get a single answer.
It may involve operations like addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division.
For Example: 5+8÷4 , (10-2)+6×2 etc

B O D M AS
In order to get a correct value of a given expression,
we have to strictly follow the rule of BODMAS where
each letter depicts a mathematical operation i.e.,
 Firstly, Bracket Off (BO)
 Division second (D)
 Multiplication third (M)
 Addition fourth(A)
 Subtraction last(S)

Different Types of Brackets
For the 'Bracket Off' part, we have basically three
types of brackets which are used in this chapter.
These brackets are mentioned as per the priority
of solving the bracket
Priority 1: Round Brackets ( )
Priority 2: Curly Brackets { }
Priority 3: Square Brackets [ ]

Example 1 : Solve 12 – 6 ÷ 2 × 4 + 3.
Solution : Using the BODMAS rule for simplification
We first divide = 12 – 3 × 4 + 3
Then, we multiply = 12 – 12 + 3
Then, we add = 15 – 12
Then, we subtract = 3
