of blood that is red blood cells so
let's see what's there in store for red
blood cells so these are B C's are the
most abundant cells in the blood so when
you talk about the most commonly found
cells in blood they are nothing but the
red blood cells when compared to white
blood cells or platelets they are found
in large numbers 5 million RBC's are
present in 1 microliter of blood 1
microliter of blood is a very small
amount 1 liter you can imagine right and
1 microliter is 10 to the power minus 6
liters so it is very very small amount
of blood and in that you are able to
find 5,000,000 RBC's which is again a
huge a huge number so these
appearance-wise these are small cells
without a nucleus so they are a
nucleated and they almost record by
concave in shape so the shapes of red
blood cells are somewhat like this by
concave in something like this so if you
look at this you see it is like kind of
table towards the center so it is stiff
this is tapering towards the center from
both sides so that is the shape of RBC's
what is their purpose they carry oxygen
from lungs to different parts of the
body so oxygen transport is the main job
of red blood cells now do you know why
these IBC's are able to carry oxygen
now these RBC's are red in color due to
the presence of a red colored pigment
called hemoglobin and this emo globin
has a very strong affinity for oxygen
and that is how it carries oxygen so
therefore we can say that red blood
cells help in
finding two oxygen and then help it to
get transported to different parts of
the body
so this respiratory pigment hemoglobin
in an healthy adult is present almost in
a considerable amount say you can say
that almost 12 to 16 grams of hemoglobin
is present in every hundred milliliter
of blood so in 100 ml of blood 12 to 16
grams of hemoglobin is present in any
healthy adult so that's how that is that
much is the abundance of hemoglobin also
so due to the small size of red blood
cells it becomes easy for them to travel
in extremely thin capillaries so if you
look at the blood vessels as I said
there are two Blake structures inside
our bodies through which the blood flows
so some of the tubes are extremely thin
so for blood to travel through such thin
tubes it is important that the sense of
the blood are also very small in size
now since these irises are very small in
size so they can very easily travel
through even those very thin capillaries
these RBC's are produced in the bone
marrow of stem cells so from where do we
get them now what before that let me ask

what are stem cells because many of you
might not know what is a stem cell so
stem cell is an embryonic cell that have
not yet become specialized tissue cells
for example when a baby is born now when
a woman becomes pregnant so a small baby
which which starts growing inside the
womb before women so that small organism
just have a few cells and those cells
gradually become specialized to form
different different cells like nerve
cells liver cells
platon it's our disease WBC's etc so
they are called stem cells so these are
PCs are also produced from those initial
embryonic stage
cells in the bone marrow average
lifespan of 120 days that means they do
not live forever
so these they die in spleen so spleen is
often called the RBC graveyard so that
that's about RBC so these red blood
cells their primary job is to travels
transport of oxygen and they are able to
transport oxygen due to the presence of
hemoglobin and because of their small
size they get very easily transported in
very thin blood vessels also so this is
the spleen spleen is an organ which is
present quite close to our liver so this
is liver
