• Sports in Rajasthan have historically been an integral part of leisure activities, initially receiving royal patronage for pursuits such as horse riding, camel riding, and archery. These traditional sports reflected the region's rich heritage and valor. Over time, however, the landscape of sports in Rajasthan has evolved significantly. The royal pastimes have given way to modern sports such as cricket, polo, and various aero sports.
• Despite this shift, sports continue to embody the bravery and cultural essence of Rajasthan. The state maintains a strong sporting tradition, with enthusiasm and spirited participation deeply ingrained in its culture.

Polo

• Polo, once a favored sport among the Raja-Maharajas of Rajasthan, remains an emblem of royal tradition. In Rajasthan, polo is uniquely played on camel-back, horse-back, elephant-back, and even on bicycles, highlighting its historical and cultural significance.
• The Rambagh Polo Club in Jaipur is a notable venue for this sport. Established during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, it has hosted some of the most prestigious polo matches. The club, situated within the grounds of the Rambagh Palace—once the Maharaja's residence—is surrounded by the opulent Gayatri Devi’s palace. 
• The Rambagh Polo Club is well-connected by air, rail, and road and is renowned for organizing polo tournaments throughout the year. Additionally, Camel Polo, a more recent innovation, is also played in Rajasthan, adding a unique twist to the traditional sport.

Golf

• Golf enthusiasts can enjoy the sport at the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur. Originally the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur, this luxurious Taj Palace Hotel is located 5 miles (8 km) outside the city walls. 
• Golf has been a royal pastime since the early 19th century when Maharani Gayatri Devi requested a golf course. The king converted the grounds of Rambagh Palace into a golf course for her enjoyment.

Ballooning

• Hot air ballooning is a popular activity in Rajasthan’s cities, including Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Udaipur. Balloon rides offer spectacular views of the Thar Desert and other landscapes. 
• Since its inception in 2008, Hot Air Balloon Safari has provided a unique aerial perspective of India’s stunning vistas, with over 2,000 passengers experiencing the thrill of ballooning from the Pink City of Jaipur.
