On March 10, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved a proposal to increase the monthly consolidated remuneration rates for retired personnel who are re-employed in service.
According to the proposal, based on the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules-2017, the consolidated remuneration has been fixed at multiples of Rs 100. This amount includes 50 percent of the first cell of the pay-level and the existing dearness allowance of 38 percent.
This decision has nearly doubled the rates of monthly consolidated remuneration.
With this increase, reemployed retired personnel will receive a significantly higher monthly consolidated remuneration. This not only boosts their income but also makes retired employees more accessible to the state government.
It is worth noting that this is the first increase in the consolidated remuneration for re-employed retired personnel in nearly five years.

Training Programs: Through this laboratory, various training programs in practical management and experiential studies will be organized for colleges and universities.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has sanctioned Rs 5.18 crore for the establishment of animal husbandry training centers in the districts of Alwar, Nagaur, Bharatpur, Sikar, and Ajmer. These centers aim to equip animal herders with modern techniques and practices in animal husbandry.
The proposal outlines that each training institute will conduct monthly batches for 30 cattle breeders, leading to a total of 36 batches per year at each center. This initiative is expected to train 1,080 cattle rearers annually per center, amounting to 5,400 trainees across all five centers each year.
The state government is already implementing various schemes for the overall development of cattle rearers, and these training centers are expected to enhance the prospects of advanced and prosperous animal husbandry, while also creating new employment opportunities.

The Rajasthan Tourism Department is set to host the Sambhar Festival 2023 from February 17 to 19 at Sambhar Lake. Upendra Singh Shekhawat, Deputy Director of the Tourism Department, announced this on February 15, 2023.
Shekhawat highlighted the department's ongoing efforts to promote tourism in the state through various innovations and the organization of major fairs and festivals. The Sambhar Festival is expected to attract both domestic and foreign tourists with its array of cultural programs and activities.
The festival will kick off with an adventure bike ride rally starting from Jaipur and concluding at Sambhar Lake. Other planned activities include star gazing, parasailing, ATV rides, motorcycle rallies, kite flying, and camel rides. Each evening of the festival will feature performances by renowned celebrities and folk artists.

Rajasthan's Ground Water Minister, Dr. Mahesh Joshi, announced in the assembly on February 15, 2023, the imminent formation of the State Ground Water Conservation and Management Authority. This initiative aims to regulate and control the exploitation of ground water in Rajasthan, addressing the concerning levels of ground water depletion in the state.
Dr. Joshi was responding to questions during the Question Hour in the Vidhan Sabha when he provided this information. He explained that the decision to create the authority aligns with the budget announcement to ensure proper ground water usage and facilitate industrial units in the state. The draft bill for this authority has been prepared by the Ground Water Department and is currently under review by the Finance Department after incorporating suggestions from the Law Department.
The Minister highlighted the alarming situation of ground water exploitation in Rajasthan, with a staggering 151 percent exploitation rate. Presently, decisions regarding ground water use are made by the state government based on guidelines from the Central Ground Water Authority.
In response to a query from MLA Rajendra Rathore, Dr. Joshi explained that the State Ground Water Department conducts regular surveys and assessments of the state's ground water resources. The latest assessment report, prepared jointly by the Central Ground Water Board and the Ground Water Department, was approved by an inter-departmental state-level committee and reflects the ground water situation as of March 31, 2022.
According to this report, out of 295 blocks and seven urban areas in the state, 219 blocks were classified as hyper-exploited, indicating severe ground water depletion. The remaining blocks were categorized as sensitive, semi-sensitive, or protected, while assessments of saline blocks were not conducted. The Minister also provided details of the seven urban areas included in the assessment: Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Kota, Udaipur, and Bikaner.
On February 14, 2023, a booklet titled 'Saal Ek: Faisle Anek', highlighting the achievements and policy decisions of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) under Chairman Dharmendra Rathore, was released to mark the completion of one year of his tenure.

After the discussion on the bills in the House, the Devasthan Minister, while highlighting the objectives and reasons of the bills, said that both the bills have been brought as per the directions of the Supreme Court.
He said that before this amendment, deaf, dumb and leprosy patients could not become members in the board of both the temples. There was frustration in their minds because of this. He said the two bills will respect their sentiments and end their inferiority complex.
Minister Shakuntala Rawat said that with the passage of these bills, deaf, dumb and leprosy patients will also be able to become presidents and members in the boards of these temples and participate in religious rituals.
He said the state government has increased the honorarium of priests. Moksha-Kalash Scheme was run during Corona through Devasthan Department and pilgrimage is being done to the people of the state through senior citizen pilgrimage scheme.

On February 22, 2023, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh inaugurated the Tribal and Folk Art State Museum and the Cultural Village Adivart in Khajuraho, Chhatarpur district. This event coincided with the G-20 Culture Working Group meeting.
Adivart is envisioned as a showcase of Madhya Pradesh's tribal and folk art, featuring the cultures of seven tribes in its first phase.

On February 23, 2023, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal to increase the number of employment days under the Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme from 100 to 125 days. This scheme aims to provide employment to every individual in urban areas, similar to the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme was announced in the 2022-23 budget by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, with an initial allocation of Rs 800 crore to provide 100 days of employment per family. The amendment to increase the employment days will come into effect on April 1, 2023, and is expected to cost around Rs 1100 crore.
Under the revised scheme, each family will be entitled to 125 days of employment. The scheme allows families to request employment by creating a job card through the Jan Aadhar card. It aims to combat urban unemployment by guaranteeing work to the urban unemployed.
The types of work covered under the scheme include environmental protection, water conservation, heritage conservation, sanitation, service, convergence, and prevention of property defacement.

On February 23, 2023, President Draupadi Murmu presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for 2021 to Vilas Janve, a senior artist from Rajasthan, during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. A total of 128 artists from across the country were honored with the Academy Award on this occasion.
As part of the recognition, Vilas Janve received a copper plaque, a cash prize of one lakh rupees, and a ceremonial garment.
Vilas Janve, aged 68, has been involved in pantomime for the past fifty years. He was awarded a senior fellowship in pantomime by the Ministry of Culture in 2001. With this accolade, he becomes the fifth artist in India to receive the prestigious award in pantomime. Previously, the award was granted to Guru Yogesh Dutta from Bengal, Padma Shri Niranjan Goswami, Moinul Haque from Assam, and Sapan Nandi from Tripura.
Since 1998, Vilas Janve, along with his wife Kiran Janve, has participated in national pantomime festivals and has directed pantomime workshops for art academies and educational institutions in various states, including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan. He has assisted his mentor, Padmashree Niranjan Goswami, in conducting pantomime workshops and has created numerous pantomimes based on historical and social themes. His work has been showcased on various platforms across the country.
For 28 years, Janve served as a Program Officer at the Western Zone Cultural Center in Udaipur and later worked as a consultant at the CCRT Regional Center in Udaipur. He has also conducted pantomime training at the Central Jail in Udaipur. Additionally, Janve has innovated by pantomiming poems from Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s Nobel Prize-winning work ‘Gitanjali.’
On February 24, 2023, Rajasthan was honored with the Best Emerging Destination and Most Scenic Road Award at the Tourism and Survey Award ceremony held by The India Today Group in Delhi.
Rajasthan was chosen for these awards based on various criteria set by the India Today Group.
In the category of the most scenic roads in India, the stretch between Udaipur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan was recognized as the Most Scenic Road in the country.
The award was presented by Union Culture Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal to Gayatri Rathore, Principal Government Secretary of the Tourism Department.
The 48th 'Rose Show-2023' was held on February 26, 2023, at City Park in Jaipur, organized by The Rose Society of Rajasthan. City Park, now a popular destination in the capital of Rajasthan, was filled with the fragrance of 400 varieties of roses.
Pawan Arora, the State's Housing Commissioner, noted the park's growing fame both nationally and internationally. The Rose Show attracted local residents and tourists alike, showcasing the park's appeal.
The Society decided to make City Park the annual venue for the February Rose Show, highlighting its popularity.
The event featured various activities, including a painting competition and the exhibition of different plants by Neelkamal, Tulip, and Home Garden Nursery. Over 400 varieties of colorful roses were displayed, with awards for the best varieties.
Awards included the Emperor and Empress of the Show, King and Queen of the Show, and the Best Exhibitor of the Show, with notable winners like the Rambagh Palace Hotel.
