Detailed Summary

Once upon a time, there was a brave woman named Arunima Sinha who lived in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. Arunima loved sports, just like her family. But when she was only three years old, she lost her father. This made her life very hard, and she often worried about her future.

One day in 2011, while Arunima was traveling by train to Delhi, something very bad happened. Some mean people tried to steal her necklace. When she fought back, they pushed her out of the moving train. She fell onto the tracks and got very hurt because another train was coming too. She had to stay on the tracks all night long, which was scary and painful.

In the morning, kind villagers found her and took her to a hospital. The doctors there had to remove her leg to save her life. This made Arunima very sad, but she was determined not to give up. After many surgeries in a big hospital in Delhi, she got a new artificial leg.

Arunima decided to do something amazing to show that she was still strong. She wanted to climb the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest! First, she met a famous mountaineer named Bachendri Pal, who was the first Indian woman to climb Everest. Bachendri Pal told Arunima that climbing Everest would be very hard, especially with one leg. But Arunima was not afraid.

She started training very hard, even though it hurt. Climbing mountains is not only hard but also very expensive. Arunima needed a lot of money to go on her adventure, nearly 60 lakh rupees! At first, no one wanted to help because they thought it was too risky. But Arunima did not give up. She kept trying, and finally, people started to believe in her. A big company called Tata Steel Adventure Foundation decided to help her.

Arunima trained in many mountains in India and Nepal. Her friend, a Sherpa named Neema Kancha, helped her a lot. Together, they faced many dangers on their way to the top of Mount Everest. There were big cracks in the ice they had to jump over and very steep parts where they had to climb carefully.

Even though it was very hard and some people said she was too slow, Arunima never stopped. Near the top of the mountain, her oxygen was almost gone, and it was very dangerous. But she found a way to keep going, and finally, she reached the top of Mount Everest! She was so happy and proud. She showed everyone that even if you have a big problem, like losing a leg, you can still do amazing things.

After climbing Everest, Arunima did not stop there. She went on to climb the highest peaks on each of the seven continents. She won many awards and became a hero to many people. Arunima also started a foundation to help other people with disabilities and plans to create a sports academy for people who are not very lucky.

Arunima believes that the accident that made her lose her leg actually helped her become a stronger and better person. She says, "I would not have climbed Everest had I not met with the accident in 2011. Though I lost my leg, it made me a stronger person." Arunima Sinha's story teaches us that no matter what happens, we can achieve our dreams if we believe in ourselves and never give up.
