11% for clayey Subgrade with high plasticity (Pl>15) for low rainfall areas (< 1300mm).

Q: 2(a) Explain the Lane Distribution factor (LDF) and the Vehicle Damage Factor 
(VDF) for the calculations of the standard axle repetitions in a design life of the flexible 
pavement. 
2(b) State the performance parameters considered for the design of the serviceability of 
flexible pavements and also mark the critical locations (in terms of stress & strain) in the

Q: 3(a) Explain the objectives (with the help of the graphs) of Pavement Maintenance 
Management System in maintaining and evaluating the existing transportation 
infrastructure. 
3(b) Explain briefly the various equipments that can be used for evaluating the flexible 
pavement infrastructure of the country. 	 (4, 3) 
Q: 4 The following aircrafts have to use the Flexible Runway Pavement. The input 
parameters for the aircrafts are as given in the table. Calculate the design aircraft and the
