Places of Interest

• Kaasi Visweswara Temple is situated in Addapuseela Village within Parvathipuram Mandal, merely 4 kilometers away from Parvathipuram town. It dates back to the 15th century and operates from 5 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 7 PM. 
• The temple hosts various festivals such as Shivaratri, Karitika Masam, Shravana Masam, and Dola Yatra. An intriguing aspect of this temple is that the Shiva lingam is believed to change color, appearing white from Pournami to Amavasya and black from Amavasya to Pournami.

ITDA Park

• ITDA Park is under the supervision of the Department of Integrated Tribal Development Agency. 
• It serves as a recreational area with various facilities and amenities for visitors to enjoy.

Thotapalli Barrage

• Thotapalli Barrage is situated in Garugubilli Mandal, Vizianagaram district within Andhra Pradesh State. It was named in honor of the freedom fighter and political leader Sardar Gouthu Latchanna.
• Construction of the project took place between 2003 and 2015.
• Inaugurated on September 10, 2015, by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at that time, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu.
• The primary purpose of the project is to provide irrigation to 120,000 acres of land in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.
• The original Thotapalli regulator, built in 1908 on the Nagavali River, had an irrigation potential of 64,000 acres.
• The current barrage, which replaced the old regulator, has a storage capacity of 2.51 Tmcft and can potentially irrigate an additional 56,000 acres.

Thotapalli Kodandarama Temple

• Thotapalli Kodandarama Temple is situated in Thotapalli Village, Garugubilli Mandal, Vizianagaram District of Andhra Pradesh.
• The temple houses Sri Venkateswara and Kodanda Rama Swami Temples and is also known as Chinna Tirupathi.
• In the past, the temple experienced high footfall during the 1980s, especially during festivals like Karthika Pournami, Navaratri, and Vaikunta Ekadasi.
• Due to changes in the Parvathipuram – Srikakulam route, the number of pilgrims visiting the temple decreased over time.

Thonam Waterfalls, Salur

• Thonam is a village in Salur Mandal in Vizianagaram District of Andhra Pradesh State, India. It is situated 75 KM north of the District headquarters, Vizianagaram.
• 6 KM away from Salur, there is a waterfall near Diguva Mendangi, enhancing the beauty of the area.

Sambara Polamaba Temple, Makkuva, Vizianagaram

• About 300 years ago, a demon named Sambarasura terrorized the locals and livestock. In response to prayers, the Goddess fought and defeated the demon.
• The village was named Sambara, and the savior Goddess is worshipped as Polamamba. It is believed that she transformed into a Neem tree, granting health and prosperity.
• Located on the banks of River Gomukhi in Makkuva mandal, Sambara Temple attracts numerous devotees annually for its grand temple festival.
• Devotees from various districts in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha visit the temple, which is situated 65 KM from Vizianagaram Town and 30 KM from Parvathipuram town.
