Important News – State

1. Which state topped in the Urban Governance Index released by the Praja Foundation recently __________ Odisha.
Note:

➢ According to the Urban Governance Index Odisha was followed by Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Delhi rank 13th in the list.
➢ The states were marked between 0 and 100 based on the themes empowered City administration, elected representatives and legislative structure and empowered citizens and physical empowerment.
➢ Maharashtra scored 55%, Odisha scored 56%. The Other top performers were Chhattisgarh with a score of 49.6 8%, Kerala with a score of 48.77% and Madhya Pradesh with the score of 45.9 4%.

2. Kanhalgaon will be the 50th wildlife sanctuary of which state ________ Maharashtra.
Note:

➢ With the addition of the state’s 50th wildlife sanctuary and 10 new conservation reserves (CR), Maharashtra has expanded its protected area network from 62 to 73 zones with over 10,000 sq km of the state now secured.

➢ The name of the award is “UNESCO-Bangladesh “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman” International Prize in the Field of Creative Economy.”
➢ The award will be given every two years and the prize money will be US $50,000. It will be given for the first time in November next year at the 41st General meeting of UNESCO.
