we saw the properties of prime numbers
now we will study the properties of Co
prime numbers as the word suggests
co-prime it means you will always have
two numbers at least it's not going to
be one number in isolation at least two
numbers together Co prime numbers means
the only common factor is 1 now the
number by itself may not be prime as I
told you prime numbers means they are
divisible by 1 and themselves in Co
prime numbers you have two or more
numbers in a set by themselves they may
not be prime but if you take those two
numbers together the only common factor
between those two numbers will be 1 for
example 25 and 2 25 is not a prime
number it's divisible by 5 5 5 z 25 so
the common factors are 1 5 2 is a prime
number but what are the common factors
between 25 and 2 only 1 let's take
another example
35 and 13 13 is a prime number 35 is
divisible by 5 35 is divisible by 7 it
is divisible by 1 it is divisible by 35
so 35 by itself it's not a prime number
13 is but if I take 35 and 13 together
what are the common factors one let us
take one more example
46 and 21 46 it's not a prime number 2
is one of the factors 23 is one of the
factors 1 is a factor 46 is a factor 21
1 is a factor 3 is a factor 7 is a
factor 21 so if I look at these two
numbers in isolation they are not prime
numbers 46 is not prime 21 is not prime
but when I take them 2
gather 46 and 21 the only common factor
between these two is one such numbers
are known as Co prime numbers which
means whenever you have a set of numbers
given to you the only common factor is
one such numbers are known as Co prime
