Dear Saurabh,
I hope you and your family are doing well. Firstly, accept my heartiest congratulations on securing a scholarship in Princeton for pursuing masters in Economics. It is such a big achievement, and your hard work has paid off significantly.
As every student wishes to study in Oxford because of its name, reputation, alumni, and the name it has all over the world, you are one of the few whose dream would be fulfilled. But as you told me, you are dropping the idea of pursuing a masters and wishing to attempt government job exams, which is a bit disturbing as after working so much, this back out attitude does not suit you.
You have to realize that you have given one year to make this dream come true and when it has happened in reality, you should not give a second thought and should go ahead with this scholarship. As a friend, I wish the best for you and having seen your potential and hard work, I am bound to persuade you to accept this scholarship and make a name for yourself.
I hope this letter will make you think again about your decision and you will accept the scholarship and make us all proud.
Yours sincerely,
Tarak Mehta
