ZS Associates Recruitment Pattern 2023 For Freshers

In ZS Associates the Recruitment process is divided into 2 phases and total 5 rounds.

Phase 1 consists of three rounds as described below:

  • Round – 1 :- Online Written Test
  • Round – 2 :- PSDD Round
  • Round – 3 :- AI-Based Interview

Phase 2 Consists of three rounds in total which are described below:

  • Round – 4 :- Case Study Round
  • Round – 5 :- HR Interview Round (EBI + FIT Round)

Round -1: Online Written Test

This round is divided into 5 sub parts i.e

Round -2: Video Conferencing Round

This is the second eliminating round for ZS Associates. In this particular round, you will be answering questions that will be displayed on your screen. There will be approximately 8 videos with 3 written Questions each.
The video conferencing round questions depends on the profile you take to give interview for. Like for example you chose:

  • BTA Profile the questions asked will be technical questions as well with some normal questions which will depict how good you are in solving your technical questions. Can include algorithm questions.
  • BOA and DAA as are profiles related to Project planning and setting deadlines and getting data related to the assigned project can include questions regarding the same that how will you manage the given data so that team can perform better?

Phase 2 of ZS Associates Recruitment Process

Round -4: Case Study Round

So in this particular round, you will be given a handbook that will have questions linked with some graphs and situational based paragraphs. This Round will have 4- 5 Questions in a question booklet of 15 pages and you will be allotted approximately 30 minutes for this particular round.

Note: The Questions from the case study may be asked in a Technical or HR interview. So we recommend you be very attentive and retain the answers you had entered and why?

Similarly as video conferencing round, this particular round will have questions related to the profile you have chosen to sit in for the interview.
For  Example:

  • For BTA Profile Questions in case study can also include technical questions from C, C++, SQL, JAVA and other languages to basically check your technical competencies.
  • For BOA and DAA Profile Questions in case study will not be as technical as BTA but still will have have questions which will be having backdrop of the profile and can include serious situational based questions like how to make client belive in the details you are providing will help and  various other questions based on Operations and planning.

When you will clear the first phase of the process i.e, Written round and video conferencing round and second phase’s Case Study round you will get mail regarding you Next Round confirmation and which is Interview Round. Interview Round is divided into 2 parts:

  • Technical Round
  • HR Round

Round 5: (EBI + FIT Round)

Round 5 which is also known as EBI + FIT Round will basically consist of questions from the some Technical questions, Puzzles, HR side and the history of ZS Associates.
In this round, you will be asked questions from the technical side and you will also be asked questions from the case study round in which you will be asked to explain your approaches and thought process.
Some of the most asked questions in this round are as follows:

  • Introduction
  • Why ZS?
  • Why Consultancy?
  • How can you contribute to ZS?
  • What was the level of the case study? Did you manage to complete the entire case study?
  • Assume that I have never gone through your solutions, can you please explain what was it all about?
  • Discussion about the entire case study, very tricky part and she tried to confuse me a lot, the interviewer wants to know how well you have understood the case study and how can you apply DBMS concepts on it. (Be confident on whatever you say)
  • An in-depth discussion about DBMS Concepts with its use in the case study.
  • Discussion on sorting techniques (Merge sort and Quick Sort)

HR-Based Question

Some of the most commonly asked questions in HR Interview Round for ZS Associates are as follows:

  • Introduction
  • Why ZS and history of ZS?
  • An in-depth discussion on my projects written on the resume
  • Discussion on my interests
  • Puzzles
  • What is more important idea or approach?
  • What do you find negative about ZS?

ZS Associates Recruitment Process 2023: Job Profile

Business Technology Analyst (BTA):

The first profile is called business technology analyst(BTA) for which branches like computer science(CSE), Information Technology(IT), Electronics and Electrical Engineering(EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering are eligible.
Technology Candidates will work when they join ZS

  • Data science and mining (SQL, Orcale, MongoDB, NoSQL etc)
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ROR, AngularJS, ReactJS and other front end profiles
  • Back end technolgies like Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, SAP, Salesforce etc

Business Operations Associate (BOA)

The second branch is called business operations analyst for this branch all the different engineering disciplines are eligible. However, this profile is not a coding profile in ZS Associates. Rather, is a operations profile which focuses more on speaking to the client understanding the client’s requirement and managing the whole project and coordinating with the different teams in ZS internally.
One good thing about this profile is most of the Coder who code for about 3-4 years in the are eventually move to this profile and this profile then is called project manager.
Technologies Candidate will work on when they Join ZS

  • Software Engineering, Agile, Waterfall, Jira etc

Decision Analyst Associate (DAA)

This profile is a coding profile under this all the branches and disciplines of Engineering are eligible for application but has a lesser coding complexity profile than business technology analyst for which only top branches of Engineering are eligible.
In this profile, you will be only working upon data and however, in Business Technology Analyst position you will also get positions which are not data analyst position but other positions like website development, app development, backend engineering and internal projects that ZS has.

  • Data science and mining (SQL, Orcale, MongoDB, NoSQL etc)

ZS Associates Recruitment Process: Interview Experience

Student Interview:

I applied at ZS Associates for the post of Data Analyst through an off-campus drive. There were five rounds in the complete interview process, Online Written Round, Video Conferencing Round, Case Study Round and The Face to Face Interview Round which included both Technical and HR Interview. So, I asked from my seniors and they told me to focus on data interpretation questions, and topics such as Probability and Speed, Time and Distance. They asked me to refer to PrepInsta and solve the previous year practice papers available there. They were a great help in the complete interview journey.

Online Written Round

There were five sections in this round. The total time limit for the paper was 75 minutes. Though there was no individual sectional time limit, there was an individual sectional cut off. So, if you cannot solve all the questions of a particular section in the given time, then skip some questions and answer the other section. The sections and the question distribution was as follows:

During this test screen and audio is recorded and if the screen is changed, a dialog box appears. If this happens more than twice, then the test is automatically published. The Data Sufficiency and Probability questions were very tricky. Still, I managed to score 87 percentile in the test. In a week, I received an email from ZS Associates for next round which was video conferencing round on the same day.

Video Conferencing Round

  • In Video Conferencing Round as I had Applied for Data Analyst Associate I was given 5 videos which had three questions each linked to it.
  • How this round works is they will show a short video of 1 minute and then will have 3 questions which will be related to the video and and the profile you have applied for as well. And then you will be allotted 6 minutes to answer those questions. Here you will be judged on your process, how you answer and obviously what you answer. So you will have to take care of all three.
  • After this video Conferencing round my combined scores of Online test and Video Conferencing Round was shortlisted and I was called at the ZS Associate campus for further interview rounds.

Face to Face Interview

There were three interviews, case study, behavioral, and HR. There was One Structured Case and one Unstructured Case.

Interview Round 1:

  • The interviewer asked me to introduce myself. Then he asked about my academic career and what was I doing for past six months, how did I come to know about the off-campus drive for ZS Associates, what do I know about the company.
  • Then he gave me some hypothetical case study of an XYZ company. I had to make a business plan to increase its product sales. He gave me 15 minutes and a sheet of paper and calculator to go through the statistics and form the business plan. I studied the history of the company and formed the business plan and explained my approach.
  • The interviewer seemed quite impressed which boosted my confidence. Then he asked me, if we increase the working hours of the labor, will it make any changes in the production. At last, he asked me to make a step by step, the graph for my approach. He told me to wait for the next face, to face round that will take place after the lunch. I smiled and left the cabin.

Interview Round 2

  • After the lunch hour was over, the receptionist asked me to follow her to the cabin of the MD for my next interview.
  • The interviewer asked me to introduce myself until then he went through a note. Then he asked me to state five essential skills a data analyst should have. He asked me if I have to develop a database for the same XYZ
  • Company that was mentioned in the 1st interview round, then what all tables will I use. I realized that the note the second interviewer was going through was the same note the 1st interviewer was writing. So, I explained with a rough tabular representation about the database that I would make. Then he asked me certain questions that can you use any other table instead of that particular table. After that, he asked me some basic database queries. Also, I was asked to estimate the number of red color wagonR Jaipur city?
  • Then I explained that at first go through the total population of the town, then the average number of members in a family, then average number of cars in a family, then what is the probability of that car to be a wagonR, then if it is a wagonR then what is the probability that it is of red colour. Based on this I formed the logic and roughly explained it to the interviewer. At last, he gave me some probability questions and asked me to solve them. Finally, after this round, I was sent for the HR interview.

HR Interview Round

The HR asked me very general questions about my life and career. She also asked about the previous interview rounds. Then she asked that why I want to join ZS and what I know about the company. Also she asked if I had any queries related to the previous interviews or the company. I asked a few questions, and then I left.

After a week I received an email saying I was selected at the ZS Associates as the Data Analyst. My joining letter was attached with the email.
