Respected Principal, teachers and dear friends Good morning! Today I would like to talk about a subject that we all do know but scarcely pay any heed to. On the days of festivals most of us burst firecrackers, not realising the amount of pollution they cause. Thus, we are ourselves degrading the environment by causing atmospheric pollution. The suspended particulate matter and gases like nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide are added to the atmosphere when a cracker is burst. The increase in atmospheric pollution gives rise to respiratory problems like asthma and bronchitis. The cases of heart attacks and strokes multiply. The noise pollution created by bursting of crackers may cause deafness also. We may enjoy the bright light and the sound of explosion for a few seconds, but we must not ignore the permanent damage caused by bursting of crackers. Hence, it becomes the duty of each one of us to keep our environment clean and refrain from bursting crackers. Let us put an end to this wasteful exercise of burning our hand earned money. Thank you

Gulliver had never given up hope of escaping from Brobdingnag. One day, the king and queen took a journey to the south coast of the Kingdom. Gulliver was, as usual, carried in his travelling box. The king stayed in his palace near Flanflasnic, a city 18 English miles away from the sea coast. Gulliver begged a page to take him near the sea, as Glumdalclitch was very ill. Not feeling well, Guiliver told the page to leave him in the hammock and close the window. Gulliver was awakened by a violent pull and felt the box raised very high in the air at a tremendous speed. Gulliver discovered that an eagle had caught hold of his box with an intention to drop it on a rock and then pick his body and eat it. A crash told he was floating in the sea.

The author's friend's wife could not tolerate the smell of the cheeses. She wanted to give them away, but the narrator said his friend would not like that. Then she asked the narrator to keep them, but he declined. She said she could not stay in the house with the cheeses and moved into a hotel. The friend then threw them into a canal, but had to take them out on the complaint of the bargemen. He left them in a mortuary, but the coroner raised a hue and cry. Finally, he buried them on a beach in a seaside town.

The character of the Emperor of Lilliput creates a nice impression on the mind of readers. He is fearless, bold, prudent, intelligent, a patron of learning and hospitable. He is generous and friendly. He feels very curious about Gulliver. He feels very happy when Gulliver cripples the fluet of Blefuscu. He gives Gulliver the highest title of honour. But when Gulliver refuses to launch another attack on the Blefuscu army, the emperor becomes angry with him. Instigated by Gulliver's enemies, he even agrees to impeach him. This shows that the emperor is an ungreatful person. Some critics believe that the Emperor of Lilliput is a satirical sketch of George I.

Harris comes across as a practical man in the novel. He knows of all the places where one can get a drink. He goes with George and Jim on a boating holiday. He thinks that he suffers from fits of giddiness. He is a great lover of drink. He probably does not enjoy a bath, because Jim says it is worth taking a great deal of food if it can make Harris remain fresh. He loves to argue, He hates to watch George snoring. He believes in boasting and it creates many troubles for him. He fills with anger if he does not find a comfortable environment. Food and drink is his weakness. He feels himself happy when he gets delicious food and drink.

It is however opened to domestic tourists in groups of 8 to 10. Our group was allowed to spend half an hour at the border. We could see the Bhutan watersheds Chumbi Valley, the Jelap la range and the Lungze ridge leading to Cangtok. I can never forget the yak ride at the Tromgo Lake. A yak is just like our buffalo.
