Ans. Sound travels differently through different mediums. In gases, such as air, sound travels through the vibrations of air molecules. In liquids, like water, sound travels through the vibrations of water molecules. In solids, sound travels through the vibrations of particles within the solid.
| 5. How is sound perceived by the human ear? | |
Ans. When sound waves enter the outer ear, they travel through the ear canal and strike the eardrum, causing it to vibrate. These vibrations are then transmitted to the middle ear, where three small bones amplify the sound. Finally, the vibrations are sent to the inner ear, where they are converted into electrical signals that are interpreted by the brain as sound.

this phenomenon is used by animals such
as bats to catch their preys in the
first step of echolocation sound is
emitted by the bat the sound travels in
the form of waves and it's the target
animal say for example a mob the
returning echo is detected by the
ultrasonic auditory system of the bat in
this manner it catches its prey
let us study more about sound in this
chapter here we will be focusing on
production and propagation of sound

of multiple reflection of sound hearing
range of humans and other organisms
