Dear Diary,

We had to make room for him and provide a separate room with fresh clothes, towels and some cosmetics. He was strictly vegetarian and insisted that no meat or fish be cooked in our kitchen. At first he was witty, sang folk songs and kept us amused, but his long, unplanned stay disturbed our privacy and daily routine. We were greatly relieved when his son finally came to take him away; his departure felt like the lifting of an unwanted burden.
