The poem - the road not taken is written by an american poet , Robert frost . In this poem the road symbolises our life. The poet says that the path we don not choose in our life is the road not taken . He describes his feeling  about that  choice he had left in past . Th epath which we have chosen decides our future , our destination. The important massage that the poet wants to give is that the choice that we make has an impact in our future and if we make  wrong choice , we regret it but we can not go back on it. So,  we must be wise while making choices.

The poem describes that someone standing at the fork in the road in the woods trying to decide which path he is going to take . He looks down one road as far as he can see and. after thinking for another minute decides to take other one because it looks nobody's been that way yet , and he is curious about that where it leads .
He tjinks may be he might come back another day and try out other path but he has a feeling that the road he has chosen will lead him to new places and discoveries ,and he probably won't back . He thinks wistfully about that road , the road not taken and where he might have wound up if he might instead part of him regrets his dicision ,but he also realizes that the things he has seen and places he has gone because of direction he chose made him who he is
